Privacy Policy

Jira Ticket Bookmark Manager — Last updated: July 1, 2026

      Short version: This extension stores your bookmarks locally on your device only. No data is ever sent to any external server, analytics service, or third party.
    

1. What data we access

The extension accesses the following data solely to provide its core functionality:

Jira ticket metadata : ticket key, title, status, priority, and assignee. This is fetched directly from your own Atlassian Jira instance using your existing browser session (no additional credentials are stored or requested).
Personal notes : optional short notes you choose to attach to individual bookmarks.
Extension settings : folder organization preferences, theme, retention rules, and display options.

2. How data is stored

All data is stored exclusively in Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local), which keeps data on your device only. Data never leaves your browser.

No cloud sync.
No external database.
No third party storage service.

3. Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect, transmit, or share:

Personal identity information (name, email, account credentials)
Browsing history or activity outside of your Jira instance
Analytics, telemetry, or usage statistics
Crash reports or error logs
Any data from websites other than Atlassian Jira Cloud sites (*.atlassian.net)

4. Network requests

The extension makes network requests exclusively to Atlassian Jira Cloud sites (*.atlassian.net) to fetch ticket information for the tickets you bookmark. These requests use your browser's existing authenticated session. No requests are made to any other domain, and this restriction is enforced in the extension's own code, not just by browser permissions.

5. Permissions explained

storage : to save your bookmarks and settings locally on your device.
alarms : to schedule automatic expiry checks for temporary folders (runs locally, no network activity).
Host access to *.atlassian.net : to fetch ticket details from whichever Atlassian Jira Cloud site you are using. Access is limited to Atlassian Jira Cloud domains only; the extension never requests access to any other website.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data persists in Chrome local storage until you:

Manually delete individual bookmarks or folders within the extension.
Uninstall the extension (Chrome removes all associated storage automatically).
Clear your browser's extension storage via Chrome settings.

Temporary folders have configurable auto expiry and delete their contents automatically based on your settings.

7. Third party services

This extension does not integrate with, send data to, or load code from any third party service, analytics platform, or advertising network.

8. Children's privacy

This extension is a professional productivity tool intended for use with workplace Jira accounts. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a revised date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
